Trust God- Stay Relevant

If Daniel could trust God in the den of the lions, then you can trust God with all your stresses and worries. In all that I do, I always trust that God is there to give me all the strength I require to go through the storm, overcome the storm excel at the end of it all, and succeed in my life.

There are times I face challenges and I wonder aloud ‘God Where Are You?

I have had so many experiences in my professional life and in my personal life where I had to call on God. One very interesting experience I had amongst many others professionally was me getting a call from the Human Resources Manager and he said, please can you meet me in my office? So off I went to his office. He said, take a seat and I did. Then, he looked at me very pitifully and said Management has decided to move you from job role A to job role B. This move was an obvious demotion for me amongst many other lateral and downward career moves that I had experienced along my career path.

The moment the HR Manager was done sharing the ‘bad’ news with me, tears welled up my eyes immediately. But very quickly, I changed my mindset. I told myself, it is not about my hierarchical position but the value I bring to the organization as well as my continued relevance in the organization, With the mindset switch I was happy to take on the new role with gratitude.

The HR Manager said, never in his career did he come across anyone take unpleasant news so positively in such a short time of consideration.

The truth is I TRUST God. I have always trusted him and every time things worked out better than they would have appeared at the beginning.

If I could still bring value in the downgraded role and remain relevant to the firm, then I was grateful that I still had a chair to sit on.

However, I must say I had more positive career moves that were advantageous to my career growth otherwise I would never have risen to the C-suite like I did but it required me to be patient and trust God all the time.

Life is about WINS and LOSSES. You celebrate the wins and learn lessons from the Losses. But you pray that you have more WINs than LOSSES along the way.

So, this is the point I am making, Trust God at all times. He knows best. For all I care, I would have failed woefully if I had not changed roles at that particular point in time.

Read the Book of Daniel in the Holy Bible. Daniel 6:22.
