Influence Egypt

Influence Egypt

Then I heard ‘If you like Egyptians Influence Egypt’.

When I heard this, I wondered what this could mean. I thought to learn about biblical Egypt and the biblical Egyptians. So, I did a quick research on the topic of biblical Egypt and Egyptians.

Egypt is the land of the Nile and the pyramids. It holds a place of great significance in Scripture. And the Egyptian kings were called Pharaohs.

idolatrous religions / False gods of Egypt

Ancient Egypt was a place of great idolatry. The Egyptian religion was a strange mixture of pantheism and animal worship, the gods being adored in the form of animals. There were over 2-thousand false gods named in ancient Egypt.

The impotence of Egypt’s gods

When God sent Moses to liberate the Israelites from the stronghold of the Egyptians, God sent 10 plagues on Egypt and demonstrated to the Egyptians that there is but one TRUE GOD, by the Name Jehovah among His other numerous Powerful Names.  Jehovah openly mocked the Egyptian pagan gods. Jehovah displayed his omnipotence, showing the Egyptian gods to be powerless and utterly false, affording their idolatrous worshipers absolutely no protection.

Some Biblical people who lived in Egypt

I would like to mention a few Biblical people who lived in ancient Egypt.

Jesus Christ—spent part of his early days in Egypt, until Herod the Great’s death

Mary, the mother of Jesus—escaped to Egypt.

Joseph, the adoptive father of Jesus

Abraham—went to Egypt.

Joseph, son of Jacob

Jacob (later called Israel)—migrated to Egypt, where he died and was embalmed.

Egypt Had a Great Deal to Offer

It is clear to me that certainly, Egypt had a great deal to offer. I noted with great interest, the great personalities mentioned above who went to Egypt in biblical times, including other Men of God like Abraham and Moses.

I then concluded after the results of my research that Egypt and Egyptians had a lot to offer non-Egyptians in terms of Economic wealth and ancient civilizations-The Pyramids, and their embalmed mummies were and still are intriguing to All who visit modern Egypt today.

Even though Jehovah God Almighty demonstrated His intolerance of the Egyptians’ practice of idol worshipping, God still showed them mercy.

God Is a Compassionate God

In the book of Isaiah, chapter 19, Jehovah God in his compassionate nature promised to turn the Egyptians back to Him from their false gods, even though Egypt had been committed to these idols for a very long time.

I quote verse 1 of chapter 19 of the book of Isaiah,  ‘And the LORD shall be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians shall know the LORD in that day, and shall do sacrifice and oblation; yea, they shall vow a vow unto the LORD, and perform it. In verses 22-25 of chapter 19 of the book of Isaiah, God further promises to heal Egypt and the Egyptians after He punishes them for their idolatry.

‘And the LORD shall smite Egypt: he shall smite and heal it: and they shall return even to the LORD, and he shall be intreated of them, and shall heal them. In that day shall there be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians shall serve with the Assyrians.

The Reconciliation of Egypt to the Love and Light of Christ

‘In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, even a blessing in the midst of the land  ‘Whom the LORD of hosts shall bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance’. Indicating the reconciliation of the Egyptian idolaters, alongside God’s children, to the love and light of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Just like Jehovah God demonstrated His willingness to return Egypt to Himself in true worship and service of Jehovah God Almighty, Christians are called to follow the example of God to encourage the Egyptians (those who serve idols and follow pagan practices of serving God’s work of creation like stars, moon, sun, oceans, and animals) to serve the Creator, instead.

The Focus and Goal of All True Christians

Therefore, as true Christians enter the territories of the Egyptians, the focus and goal of the Christians in the encounter with Egypt and the Egyptians is to win them over to the light and love of Christ. Christians must not follow the ways and practices of the Egyptians. Rather the Egyptians must turn to serve the True God, the Creator of this universe.

In the book of Jeremiah, chapter 15 vs 19 & 20, the Prophet Jeremiah made the message clear, and he says ‘Therefore, this is what the Lord says…. Let these people turn to you, but you must not turn to them. I will make you a wall to these people, a fortified wall of bronze; they will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you to rescue and save you’ declares the LORD. Hence, the charge in my revelation, ‘If you like Egyptians Influence Egypt’. We must encourage the ‘Egyptians’ to come to Christ, and we must preach the Gospel of Our Lord Jesus Christ to them.

This is the great commission to all True Christians, to spread the gospel of Our Lord JESUS Christ to all the nations of the world.

I pray that God gives us All, the Courage, Knowledge, Understanding, and Wisdom to influence Nations to serve God Almighty through our Lord Jesus Christ as we journey on our path of destiny.

Praise Be To God Almighty, Praise Be To Our Lord Jesus Christ, Praise Be To The Holy Ghost.
