Then I heard, this same Jesus is the King of Glory.
For about a few days running up to the day I received this revelation, I had been asking The Lord God, Jesus Christ to graciously reveal His Glory to me like He revealed His Glory to Apostle Peter, James, and John on Mount Tabor during the Transfiguration of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Before I continue with my write-up, let me quickly explain the event of The Transfiguration.
What scripture talks about the Transfiguration?
The Transfiguration of Jesus is an event described in the New Testament, where Jesus is transfigured and becomes radiant in glory upon a mountain. The Synoptic Gospels (Matthew 17:1–8, Mark 9:2–13, Luke 9:28–36) recount the occasion, and the Second Epistle of Peter also refers to it.
So, I continue with the first question of who is Our Lord Jesus to benefit those who do not know who The Lord, Jesus Christ is.
Who is Jesus Christ The Lord in The Bible?
To answer the question, first, I’d like to infer that Jesus Christ, The Messiah was certain people had different views on his identity. Hence he asked the question to his disciples and I quote from the book of Mark 8:27-30: “And on the way, he asked his disciples, ‘Who do people say that I am?’ And they told him, ‘John the Baptist; and others say, Elijah; and others, one of the prophets.’ And he asked them, ‘But who do you say that I am?’ Peter answered Him, ‘You are the Christ’” And Jesus warned them not to tell anyone about him. Christ is a Greek word Christo, meaning the Messiah, The Anointed One.
In addition, scripture reveals that Jesus Christ was not only fully God but fully man. He became a human being so that he could identify with our weaknesses and struggles, and most importantly so that he could give his life to pay the penalty for the sins of all humankind.
Jesus Christ is unique
The Bible says Jesus is unique in both His person and His purpose. He wasn’t just some spiritual individual during His time on earth; He was both God’s Son (John 3:16) and God Himself—God in human flesh (1 Timothy 3:16). Yes, He was fully man, but He was also fully God (Colossians 2:9).
Now, we know who Jesus Christ is, my next inquiry is who is The King of Glory?
What does the king of glory mean in the Bible?
The King of Glory is the Lord; He is Yahweh. That is to say, the Creator and ruler of the world and all its people is none other than Yahweh, the God of Israel.
Who is the king of glory?
The psalmist asks, “Who is this King of glory?” and answers, “The Lord strong and mighty” (Psalm 24:8). Many prophecies of Christ found in Psalms are fulfilled in the New Testament.
Continuing with the reference to Psalms 24:8-10 New International Version (NIV), The King of Glory is ‘The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, you gates; lift them up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is he, this King of glory? The LORD Almighty— He is the King of glory.
What is the power of calling God the king of glory?
He is the King of Glory because he is “the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world” (John 1:29). The power of this King of Glory can likewise clean us and overcome whatever evil befalls us. As you pray, call out to the King of Glory.
When David called God “the King of Glory,” it was His power that was foremost in David’s mind. You know these verses I cited above:
“Lift up your heads, you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.” (Psalm 24:7-8).
God’s Glory is Visibly Manifested
And it doesn’t take long before His glory is visibly manifested in brilliant light. When a group of shepherds heard the announcement of The Messiah’s birth from an angel of God, Luke tells us that “The Glory of The Lord shone round about them” (Luke 2:9). God’s glory shines.
God Reveals His Glory in Creation
One of the articles I referenced on the internet summed God’s Glory in Creation as stated below:
‘Just as we saw God’s Goodness and His wisdom in creation, so also do we see His Glory. Almost everyone knows this verse:
“The heavens are telling of the Glory of God; and their expanse is declaring the work of His hands” (Psalm 19:1, NASB).
According to the writer of the article, it is impossible for honest men to contemplate the starry heavens and fail to see the Glory of God. They reveal that God exists, for such a Glorious creation demands a Creator. They reveal His power, for such a powerful effect demands a more powerful Cause. They reveal His wisdom, for their amazing design demands an all-wise divine Designer. And they reveal His infinity, for scientists have not yet been able to discover their end. The heavens reveal the glory of God.
The writer goes on to say ‘But the heavens are only the beginning. The earth also reveals His glory. As one of the seraphim cried to Isaiah in his vision of God, “the whole earth is filled with His glory” (Isaiah 6:3). It is impossible for honest men to contemplate the beauty of a flower, or the perfection of a snowflake, or the loveliness of a tree, or the strength of the mountains, or the vastness of the oceans, or the incredible instincts of the animal kingdom, and fail to see the glory of Go’d.
The Highest of God’s Glorious Creation
Furthermore, the article says ‘But the highest of God’s glorious creation is man. He reflects the very image of God (Genesis 1:26-27).
To buttress the dual nature of Our Lord Jesus as fully God and fully Man, Apostle John writes in the Book of John 10:30-36, ‘’I and the Father are one.”
At this juncture, I would like to introduce the concept of The Holy Trinity.
What is the simplest way to explain the Trinity?
There is one God, who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Divine Holy Trinity is a way of describing God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
Is Jesus the Father and the Holy Spirit the same person?
“The Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit” are not names for different parts of God, but one name for God because three persons exist in God as one entity. They cannot be separate from one another. Each person is understood as having the identical essence or nature, not merely similar natures.
This explains why the Scriptures say in John 1:1-5 New Century Version (NCV) that ‘He was with God in the beginning. All things were made by him, and nothing was made without him. In him there was life, and that life was the light of all people. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overpowered it.
Conclusion
Through the revelation I received, The Holy Spirit brings clarity through this exposition between the concept of God Jesus Christ, as being fully God and being fully Man and the connection with The Holy Spirit.
This is one of the Mysteries in the Life of Our Lord God, Jesus Christ, and yet a truth and belief All Christian believers unequivocally and dearly hold unto.
Praise God Almighty, Praise Our Lord Jesus Christ, Praise The Holy Spirit.
