Believe Is Not Enough; You Must Trust

Believe Is Not Enough; You Must Trust

eorits

As I happily reflected on All The Promises of God, to me as a child of the Most High God, I heard a voice say ‘I believe’ and instantly another voice followed that said ‘You do not need to believe; You need to Trust Him’.

Then I said to the Spirit of God, what is the difference between ‘Belief’ and ‘Trust’? The spirit of God says Believe is hoping while ‘Trust’ is indicative of the existence of evidence. There is a track record of performance in the past in the case of Trust that speaks to implicit and explicit confidence in God!

And I thought to check out google on the difference in both expressions: ‘I believe’ as opposed to ‘I trust’.

Below is what I found from my research on google:

What’s the difference between Believing and Trusting?

“Belief” means (a) an acceptance that a statement is true or that something exists or (b) something one accepts as true or real; a firmly held opinion or conviction. “Trust” means “a firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something.”

What does it mean to say I believe in God?

I Believe In God. The Creed begins with an affirmation of faith in God, a God who is both personal (a Father), sovereign (Almighty), and who is the origin of everything that is (Maker of heaven and earth).

What does it mean to trust God?

TRUST (in God): a belief in God’s truth, ability, and strength. To put it simply, trusting in God means believing what He says about Himself, about the world and you are true and unchangeable. Trusting is a choice, not a feeling.

Tangible ways to trust God:

I take an extract from the link page indicated below.

‘Actively cast your cares on Him’.

Peter tells us in 1 Peter 5 to “cast our cares on Him because He cares for you.” In this chapter, Peter emphasizes the necessity of humbling ourselves to God — to lowering ourselves and recognizing our needs. To cast, meaning to “throw off” and “hurl” our anxieties, up to Him.

We can trust and obey God to cast our cares and anxieties on Him. When we acknowledge our worries and distrust and choose to surrender them to Jesus, it shows that we trust Him and His ability. Pray and ask God to humble your heart. However hard it may be, start humbly and ask God to help us release our control because only He is able.

Every day, ask Him to help you release your grip on your circumstances. You can trust Him with your cares, frustrations, and worries. He is your Father — your closest friend — your Savior.

God Is Omnipotent, Omniscient and Omnipresent

I conclude by saying that indeed, like many Christians, we have seen God perform wonders in our lives that are beyond our wildest imagination, and as such ‘believing’ is not sufficient for us Christians in our walk with God. We must go to the next level of Trusting Him in our journey with Him. Because if we admit this, We ALL have seen God show up in ways beyond our expectations. The scriptures say in the book of Ephesians 3: 20 ‘Our God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think” .

When we operate from a place of Trust with God, this is indicative of hard evidence of God’s omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent nature.

There is no other God like HIM.
