In my walk with God, I have realized that for as long as we strive to be true children of God, the devil will always be at our back. The devil is always tempting us to go off course the path of salvation.

I once heard a Pastor say that, in a race, for as long as the one at your back has not stopped running, you cannot stop running if you want to win the race.

The Full Armor of God

To win the race for the kingdom of God, you must not stop running to enter the kingdom. Running means putting on the whole Armor of God. Ephesians 6: 14 ‘Put on the Full Armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes’. The following represents the Armor of God:

• Loins girts with truth (belt of truth)
• Breastplate of righteousness
• Shoes with the preparation of peace (Peace)
• Shield of faith
• Helmet of Salvation
• The Sword of the Spirit (The Word of God)

We Struggle Not Against Flesh and Blood

Remember that we struggle not against flesh and blood but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world, and the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. And the devil when tired only goes away for just a while. He will surely come back. For as long as we know he is going to be back, we must continuously put on the armor of God to withstand and defeat him.

The whole idea is just to pursue the Armor of God and tire out the devil even if the devil is sure to return (the devil goes away for a while only) while we remain in constant readiness of prayer to overcome the accuser of the children of God.

Finally, I say Wait on The Lord and he will renew our strength as we race into the Kingdom of God.
